While brands are built around product, your marketing efforts are used to drive the stake in the ground showing that you “own” the brand – what you are known for and what it is that sets you apart from everyone else.
The moment your customers arrive in town, it should be obvious what you are about – your brand. Drive into Hershey, Pennsylvania and you’ll see streetlights shaped like Hershey Kisses. Every successful branding effort requires a branding “system” that not only includes brand identities (logos) for various local organizations, key marketing messages and tag lines, but also incorporates physical elements including pole banners, decorative wayfinding signage, visitor information kiosks, gateways, retail signage, and downtown districts that all reinforce and support the brand.
